Rheinland Lions aiming for 'Threepeat' in 2009
Since it's formation in 1999, and first year of serious competition in 2003, the AFL Germany has gone from strength to strength and the 2009 Grand Final will once again showcase our great game to some of the 670,000 natives of Frankfurt, as well as give them a chance to play a game themselves in a public match on the morning of the Premiership decider.
The 2009 AFL Germany Grand Final Day on 5 September begins at 11am at Frankfurt East park with an open game for all football fans. This is a great chance for all football fans & sports lovers curious about this great game to play with some of the AFL Germany players. Previous experience or knowledge of the rules is not necessary.

At 1pm the first final of the day will be played, the 2nd Division Grand Final.
At 3pm sees the big one! The 2009 AFLG Grand Final. For the fourth time in a row arch rivals, the Rheinland Lions and the Munich Kangaroos, will face each other in the biggest game on the local German Aussie Rules calendar, with the Lions aiming for a ‘Threepeat’ of victories. Munich will be attempting to win their first Premiership since winning back-to-back flags in 2005/06.
At 7pm the official public AFLG after match party begins in the Dance House West. As well as the 2009 Premiers, the best players of the season will be honoured. This promises to be a great celebration of Aussie Rules in Germany, and all players, friends and fans are invited all to this AFLG family celebration. Music will be provided by popular Frankfurt act HörRaumRockaz

AFL Germany have a limited number of complimentary tickets for the after match party available for members of the press. Proper accreditation is required and requests should be made directly to the League.
AFL Germany would like to thank everyone who has helped make 2009 such a successful season. Once again the support of their Premium Sponsors has been invaluable, and has helped make the organization of the 2009 Grand Final day possible.

Any enquiries about the day, the AFL Germany or Australian Rules Football in general, should be directed to the Australian Football League Germany, c/o P.O. Box 180325 60084 Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
