The grim economic news that keeps coming our way, is affecting every one of us in some way. And unfortunately one of the websites that has been instrumental in helping Aussie Rules gain important television exposure, and promoting the greatest game on Earth is hitting some tough times as well.

AFANA (Australian Football Association of North America) need your support, at this critical time. AFANA has been existence a remarkable 13 years and working hard to get more Australian football to fans across North America. However, as they begin their 14th year, the situation of AFANA is very serious.
A shift this year to donations and away from the membership model of the past has caused a severe financial dilemma for the important site.
AFANA Chairman, Rob de Santos has stated to AustralianRulesFootball.com.au that “We want to avoid some of the alternatives we will certainly have to consider if the situation doesn't improve.
To do what we do without AFL funding has always depended on the generosity of our supporters and the work of our staff who labor away without the benefit of payment each week. A quick look around the AFANA web site will show how hard our staff in the US, Canada, and Australia continue to work even in the off season. We continue to post AFL news summaries and we have been pleased to report on big gains in the TV coverage for fans in the USA”.
People who know the founder of AustralianRulesFootball.com.au will know how much he dreams about Aussie Rules becoming a fully-fledged Olympic Sport one day in the future. That is why we are putting out an S.O.S. for AFANA so Footy lovers with a few spare dollars can make donation to help them out of their situation.
