Assumptions First XVIII made short work of Cellar Dwellars Camberwell on Saturday humiliating them by an appauling 216 points.
This now puts Assumption into the AGSV Grand Final. It was a big ask for them to defeat Camberwell by as much as they did. Because Marcellin defeated Peninsula on the Friday, Assumption would have to win by 20 goals to get a good enough percentage to get a place in the ASGV Grand final. And they did it in fine style. Full Forward Luke Gestier continued to shine as he takes his season tally to 75 goals for the season, and he got a personal best with 13 goals against the hapless Camberwell team. The young fielded side provided promise for the future with good potential from year 10 boys Daniel Toman, Jesse Webster and Tallan Wright and also showing promise are year 11 utilities Tyson Biffen and Josh Cunningham. Assumption will take on rivals PEGS in their AGS Grand Final and Essendon Keilor in the Herald Sun Shield Grand Final. Should Assumption win both it will be there 35th AGSV title and their 10th Herald Sun Shield Priemiership.
