This now means that the top 3 sides- Assumption, Marcellin and PEGS have all lost 1 game. (Assumption lost to PEGS, Marcellin lost to Assumption and PEGS lost to Marcellin) and seeing as there is no final series, the Grand Final will be decided on percentage (1st v 2nd) It was a shock win and not many people would have been expecting it. And not many others would have expected Yarra Valley (who lost to Marcellin by only 4 points) to give a decent fight. But that was not the case as Assumption, lead right from the word go. Full Forward Luke Gestier was on fire as he kicked a career best 10 and now takes his season total to 59. He lead hard all day and marked superly, and his deadly accurate kicking blew Yarra Valley out of the water. Other notable performances included Year 11 boy Jackson Garvey-Hawke's 33 possesions, and the prominsing signs of Year 10 lads Jesse Webster and Tallan Wright. Assumption now face the biggest challenge this Wedneday when they play De La Salle Malvern for a chance at an MCG Grand Final.
